How long have you been traveling? My entire life – I always try to have a trip planned so there’s always something to look forward to.

What do you do to avoid getting sick? I travel with anti-bacterial lotion in my carry on and use it frequently.

What is the best way to change currency? I always get money out at the ATM when I arrive, as you typically receive the best exchange rate with minimal fees through the ATM.

Aisle or window? Aisle – I can never sit still on planes and am constantly getting up and walking around.

Tips on how to take a nap on a plane?  I’ve never been able to sleep on a flight but I still always travel with a travel pillow and blanket.

What’s your favorite airline and hotel? My favorite airline is Virgin Atlantic and my favorite hotel is the Hyatt Regency Maui.

Best way to overcome jetlag? Stay awake when you arrive at your destination and go to bed at a reasonable hour the first evening. Although the first day may be rough, you’ll be able to adjust much easier to the new time zone.

What is your favorite/worst thing about traveling? While I love exploring new destinations and cultures, I am not a fan of the plane ride to get there.  Although I fly frequently, I still am much happier when my feet are on solid ground.

What is your longest trip to date? (Number of nights and location) 16 nights on a Linblad Expedition cruise to the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador.

Do you believe you do not know someone till you have traveled with them?  No – I think you can know someone without traveling with them but I do agree that you do learn a lot about a person when traveling with them.

What is your travel horror story? I honeymooned in the Dominican Republic and a tropical storm arose during our stay.  Our room started leaking from all the rain and we ended up having to pack up and change rooms.  This happened four different times during our stay – each time we’d arrive at a new room, it would appear to be fine and then in the middle of the night, it would start leaking.

Favorite destination and why? Switzerland – It is one of the most beautiful places I have been to and I love the crystal clear lakes surrounded by sheer mountain cliffs, hiking around the waterfalls and the ability to ski year round there.
