What do fans love almost as much as their favorite teams? The excitement of a brand-new venue for their favorite teams! From football to basketball, numerous teams have announced plans for or have already begun construction on new billion-dollar venues with luxury amenities. Read on to see what is expected for NFL, MLB, and NBA.

NFL
The Buffalo Bills are getting an upgraded stadium scheduled to open in 2026. The Bills have not had a new stadium since 1973. The stadium, currently referred to as the New Highmark Stadium, will have a capacity of 62,000 – which is fewer seats than the old stadium, but with a better canopy design to protect fans from inclement weather. It is reported that the team has a desire for a visual identity that reflects some of the historical architecture of Buffalo, while also delivering a modern appearance.

The Tennessee Titans have plans to open a new stadium in Nashville for the 2027 NFL season. Renderings of the New Nissan Stadium were released in early 2024 and feature a new enclosed design promising exceptional views from every seat. There is also focus on community and sustainability. The new stadium aims to host sporting, entertainment and civic events in a high-tech facility designed to minimize waste and preserve energy and water.

MLB
Renderings for a proposed 30,000-seat ballpark for the Oakland Athletics have been released ahead of their expected move to Las Vegas. The new design includes an enormous, canopied five-tier roof and 18,000-square-foot jumbotron – the largest screen in the MLB. Production is expected to cost $1.1 billion, and a location has been identified near Allegiant Stadium, where the NFL Raiders play, and T-Mobile Arena, where the NHL Golden Knights play.

NBA
Since 2014, the Clippers owner has wanted to move the Clippers out of Crypto.com Arena, which they share with the Lakers. In 2026, the Intuit Dome will host the NBA All-Star Game for the first time. The Los Angeles Clippers will open a new stadium in fall 2024. One exciting feature is a dedicated fan area called “The Wall” which comes with a list of rules such as, no cheering for the opposing team or wearing opponent gear. And because fan experience is a top priority, the Clippers are also installing a halo scoreboard in the arena to give everyone a good view of the action.

Several additional stadiums are also in the works for the Tampa Bay Rays, Philadelphia 76ers, Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Washington Wizards. Stay tuned, there’s even more to come!
